Statistics from the National Poll on children’s health showed that the biggest health issues children face (according to parents) are:
- Not enough exercise
- Drug abuse
Introducing children to yoga practice will help them steer clear of the biggest health concerns parents have. In this day and age, not exercising can be an issue because of all the videogames and television available to them. Yoga will get them to exercise while strengthening their minds and bodies. Getting children into a routine of practicing can avoid the issue of obesity by keeping them in a steady practice. Yoga promotes health of the body and mind. In order to honor this practice, smoking and drug abuse will not be an option for children because of the peacefulness yoga brings to them.
Bullying has always been a problem in schools and with children. One reason that bullying may occur is because the bully lacks self confidence.When a child has confidence then bullying will not be an issue. There will be no need to bully others, and if the child is being bullied, it will not affect them because of the power yoga puts into their confidence. It may not be easy to get into a yoga routine. But once yoga becomes a regular part of everyday exercise, the benefits are extraordinary.
